Oct 2021 COVID UPDATE - We're a COVID safe business and maintain strict infection control guidelines! Our dentists and dental assistants are fully vaccinated and our practice is ready to see you for your routine dental care needs!

Painfree dentistry – yes, it happens

What puts more people off a trip to the dentist than anything else? The fear of pain. Whether it’s a small, routine procedure, or something major, there is always the fear with a trip to the doctor’s that you’re in for a mini horror movie, in which you’re the star. The good news is that perception doesn’t always match with reality, and in reality, most patients that visit Parra Dental experience painfree dental treatment.

Training helps to ensure painless dental treatment, and the team at Parra Dental have the experience and training to prioritise the comfort of our patients. What’s more, in most cases we’re able to reduce, or eliminate the toothache or dental pain that brought you to us on the same day.

Managing your anxiety for a trip to the dentist

Our team understands the concerns and anxiety that many feel when visiting a dentist, and we work hard to make the process as smooth and comfortable as possible.

One thing that we recommend to our patients is that they come to us earlier in the morning – we find that being well-rested helps in staying calm and relaxed. Additionally, you should eat, but only a light meal, so that there’s only a small amount of food in the stomach. We also like to hear about your previous experiences with trips to the dentist – both positive and negative! – so that we know what can help make the experience with us a good one for you.

To help make sure you have a painfree experience, we’ll likely use numbing gel for minor procedures. This will leave an area of your mouth feeling numb for around two to four hours, but it means you’ll feel nothing more than a small pinch with any needlework we need to perform. If you need more major work done, then we will establish a schedule involving trips to the dentist, and work to be done, so that you have complete transparency with each stage of the process. And, of course, we make use of anaesthetic to ensure that there’s no pain through the procedures.

If you have any other concerns about getting dental work done, or how painfree dentistry can be, please don’t hesitate to contact us on 02 96339835. The team at Parra Dental will make your next dental experience a comfortable and pleasant one.
